A ‘model’ outing from Edeline Lee
by theadmin on Nov.15, 2014, under Marquee Hire

Here at JF Marquees and Marquee Hire recently we were very excited to have been given the opportunity to get involved with London Fashion Week. We were approached by fashion designer Edeline Lee, who required a space in which she could showcase her brand new collection. Edeline needed a marquee which ran alongside the rear terrace of Somerset House, exposing visitors to some fabulous views over the River Thames.
The marquee build was fairly straightforward, though we had to make sure the marquee was weighted as it was constructed directly onto the terrace. However, the timescales were very tight, and we needed to ensure we could both build and then de rig the marquee very quickly. This was a little tricky as we had limited access to the site, however our experienced team pulled it off and Edeline’s marquee was a success.
You can see from the image above how the structural nature of the marquee was emphasised by the layout, using a number of pods for models rather than the traditional cat walk/run way! The lighting and sound has to be just right, and there needs to be plenty of space available for photographers and journalists as well as other guests.
It’s worth remembering that marquees aren’t simply for weddings and country fairs – they are so versatile that they can be used for all sorts of occasions. As well as providing a stand along venue, they can also be incorporated into existing buildings, therefore extending the space which is already there. Our marquee at London Fashion Week is a good example of this, as we were able to provide an extension of a stunning location, therefore helping to add much need space and functionality to the venue.

Get creative this Christmas time
by theadmin on Nov.13, 2014, under Food and Lifestyle, Recipes

Make this Christmas Cake which is quick and easy – start early to avoid the Christmas rush, make your cake whilst hanging Christmas decorations, adding some brandy or whiskey to keep it flavoursome.
Prepare this fruit cake in advance and feed it regularly with rum, brandy or whisky to build the flavour and keep it moist.
INGREDIENTS
- 1kg mixed dried fruits (use a mix of raisins, sultanas, currants, cherries, cranberries, prunes or figs)
 - zest and juice 1 orange
 - zest and juice 1 lemon
 - 150ml brandy, Sherry, whisky or rum, plus extra for feeding
 - 250g pack butter, softened
 - 200g light soft brown sugar
 - 175g plain flour
 - 100g ground almonds
 - ½ tsp baking powder
 - 2 tsp mixed spice
 - 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 - ¼ tsp ground cloves
 - 100g flaked almonds
 - 4 large eggs
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract

- Put the dried fruit, zests and juice, alcohol, butter and sugar in a large pan set over a medium heat. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 5 mins. Tip the fruit mixture into a large bowl and leave to cool for 30 mins.
 - Heat oven to 150C/130C fan/gas 2. Line a deep 20cm cake tin with a double layer of baking parchment, then wrap a double layer of newspaper around the outside – tie with string to secure.
 - Add the remaining ingredients to the fruit mixture and stir well, making sure there are no pockets of flour. Tip into your prepared tin, level the top with a spatula and bake in the centre of the oven for 2 hrs.
 - Remove the cake from the oven, poke holes in it with a skewer and spoon over 2 tbsp of your chosen alcohol. Leave the cake to cool completely in the tin.
 - To store, peel off the baking parchment, then wrap well in cling film. Feed the cake with 1-2 tbsp alcohol every fortnight, until you ice it. Don’t feed the cake for the final week to give the surface a chance to dry before icing.

Read some useful information from DIY Marquees
by theadmin on Nov.12, 2014, under DIY Marquee
DIY Marquees commercial marquees for sale have the most useful interesting tips on how to go about erecting a marquee, looking after your marquee and loads of information on general marquee maintenance.
Following (always useful) feedback from customers DIY Marquees have introduced a marquee tool section. This enables them to become more of a one shop stop for start up or existing marquee hire companies.
Keep a look out for further tools which will be added soon.
They are particularly proud of the marquee stake puller that could be a great help when dismantling marquees, unlike most stake pullers it is also very light so fits in nicely with their marquees that pack down to surprisingly small volumes.
Should you require any tools that are not listed please contact DIY Marquees who will design/source them for you.
Have a look at this interesting article I found on HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CLEAN YOUR MARQUEE?
The obvious answer is whenever it needs it so maybe a better question would be how often should you expect to clean a marquee.
A marquee is far more likely to get dirty when being erected/dismantled rather than when it is actually up. If you’re careful when erecting and especially when dismantling the marquee then you can usually get away with a thorough clean only once or twice a season.
There are however a few exceptions:
The dirtiest marquee I have ever had was one that was erected under some trees. When it rained all of the dust and grime was washed off the leaves down on to our lovely marquee. If you’ve got to put a marquee up under trees expect to clean it immediately afterwards.
Rain-skirts by their very nature will always get muddy in the rain, these should be given a wipe over on pretty much every job.
Traffic-film – eventually PVC can have a grey layer build up which is especially difficult to remove. It takes a long time for this to happen (a year or two normally) but at this stage it needs a thorough clean using a chemical. The material also needs irritating (gone over with a brush or similar) to get this off. Once thoroughly cleaned the PVC should be as good as new.
Tree sap is a nightmare to remove.
There are also some things that will never come out:
Petrol/Diesel can stain PVC. This will never come out so avoid them at all costs.
Ingrained mould – this affects many marquees especially those that are stored when still wet. PVC is made of many layers, if a marquee is put away wet or if cheap PVC is used then water can get inside the layers and create mould which will never come out. Incidentally this is one of the reasons we use better quality 500gsm PVC than available elsewhere, it takes far longer for the layers to break down in better quality PVC.
Some garden chemicals can stain – I was shown a marquee recently that had green stains around the rain skirt which seemed to have come from a chemical added to the lawn.
Better quality PVC always helps, we use a lacquer coated PVC as it is easier to clean and lasts longer than the cheap alternatives.

Remembrance Day commemorated
by theadmin on Nov.07, 2014, under Funeral Services

A Woking man has devoted the last few months to putting together a display to commemorate not only all those who lost their lives in the two World Wars and later conflicts, but also in memory of his Father and Son.
Neville Lazenby wanted to create the display to thank Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors of Goldsworth Road, for the way they looked after his son Steven after he died of a brain tumour in January 2012. Neville and his wife Janette have remained in contact with Paul Thurtle (Branch Manager) since Paul arranged their son’s funeral.
In this very special year marking the 100th anniversary of Britain entering the First World War, Neville decided to design and build a window display for the Woking Branch of Lodge Brothers.
The picture shows Neville and Paul with the display.
Neville has included a picture of his father, Sergeant Ralph Lazenby who died in 2003. He was an original member of the SAS in 1941. He was sent out to the Middle East, was captured and then imprisoned in Stalag 357.
Also remembered in the display is Woking resident Walter ‘Charlie’ Brown OBE who died in 2010.
Neville also included in the display four detailed replica figures of soldiers from his collection. The soldiers and the display have been causing a lot of interest from local people passing by the window.
Paul and all the Lodge Brothers branches such as Funeral Directors Ashford, Funeral Directors Feltham, Funeral Directors Woking, Funeral Directors Chertsey and Funeral Directors Englefield Green are extremely grateful to Neville and Janette for their generosity in using their time and talents to create a fantastic window display.

Functions of Female Ejaculation
An ancient Tantric subject often over looked and considered taboo relating it to the most indecent of thoughts in the mainstream arena – Female Ejaculation lies as the tainted and unexplained in the female Sexual Health industry.
Female Ejaculation is colloquially known as ‘squirting’.
Often dismissed as incontinence and as a probable condition befallen upon certain females; the functionality of the Female Ejaculation remains scientifically unexplained and left unknown. The nature of scientific disinterest contributes to solid fact that only a certain number of women also only quite a handful number, have publicly reported to be able to ejaculate in comparison to the mass population. As the society moved onto a less emotional platform to a logical and scientific plateau amongst patriarchy, the art of love making became biological and anything that did not serve physical purpose was rendered useless. Hence the subject has not been thoroughly studied – at least to console the women in the dark. However, the chemical composition has been found to have prostatic secretions and been scientifically validated stating that the excretion (fluid) from the ejaculation differs from urine completely overhauling the blind accusations of incontinence and bladder dysfunctions.
Also having had the Adult Film industry exploiting this scientific disinterest, the subject of Female Ejaculation was tucked at the hidden corner of the closet for a tarred image.
Being a British Pioneer in the area of Body Work and the first certified Advanced Tantra Educator in UK (from Source School of Tantra) I, Mal, have bridged the misunderstanding of the function of Female Ejaculation. Using Tantric and Toa techniques, I intend to release negative emotions from the female body and Female Ejaculation being the essence of the treatment.
The excretion (fluid) from the female is referred to as the Amrita in Sanskrit. Amrita means sweet nectar of life. The Japanese doctor Masaru Emoto claims that human consciousness affects molecular structure of water. When this finding is related to the fluid structure of the Amrita, it is certain under a microscope negative molecule of emotions will be found.
Thus giving a name to the face of the unexplained functionality of the Female Ejaculation through the art of Tantra and Tao teaching.
My bodywork to release emotions is also called the Sacred Spot Massage, G Spot Massage, Vaginal Massage or the Yoni Massage.
Through the belief that the callused negative emotions can armor the core of the female sexuality draping away pleasure and ‘being’ of a woman, my body work for emotional release has been articulately seasoned through decades of practice and perfecting over 3000 women all over the world.

The punch line being Female Ejaculation is vital and ‘revoltingly’ healthy for the overall wellbeing of a woman that only can be regarded as ‘normal’.
